According to Ian Rapoport, the Patriots will host yet another receiver this free agency period Kenny Britt today.
The Patriots have already signed Brandon LaFell and resigned Julian Edelman this offseason, but apparently they are not content as they make a concerted effort to improve their skill positions on defense early in free agency and now have turned their sights to offense.
Bringing in Britt also goes along with another theme this offseason and it seems to be that the Patriots want to get bigger at receiver and defensive back. Browner is 6’4, Brandon LaFell is 6’2 and Kenny Britt is 6’3.
Britt will also fit in with half the team as he attended college at Rutgers and played under Greg Schiano and there’s a long list of players that have come from Schiano’s pipeline.
Britt caught just 11 passes for 96 yards last season playing in Tennessee, but the 30th overall pick in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft showed major potential in his first couple seasons with the Titans. his best season was in 2010, when he hauled in nine touchdowns, 42 receptions and 775 yards in just 12 games.
