The Philadelphia Eagles and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are on bye’s so finding a suitable replacement for your star players that are resting this week is key to fantasy success.
Keep in mind when you’re reading our weekly Boom or Bust pages, you’ll very rarely find us using top tier, star caliber name players to Boom and low end, under performing players to Bust. Anyone can tell you Peyton Manning is going to have a monster game but the talent is knowing when Manning’s going to have a not so great week. This is the type of information we try to provide our readers. Let’s get started, shall we?
My Quarterback Boom of the week: Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers – Coming off a big game last week vs. the Bengals, Newton will do just as well this week vs. the Packers. Green Bay leads the league in worst run defense, allowing 154 yards per game, and Newton will use his legs to rack up yardage as well as maybe a touchdown or two against the Pack. Add that to his passing yardage and you have the recipe for a great game from Cam this week.
Other recommended quarterbacks to Boom are: Ben Roethlisberger vs. Houston Texans; Derek Carr vs. Arizona Cardinals; Matthew Stafford vs. New Orleans Saints
My Running Back Boom of the week: Andre Ellington, Arizona Cardinals – QB, Carson Palmer is back with Arizona and that does nothing but help Ellington this week. Facing the second worst run defense in the NFL, Oakland allowing 150 rushing yards per game, Ellington is in for a nice game. Ellington is also a great pass catching back and should fare well vs. Oakland this week in that department too. Plug Ellington into your lineups with confidence.
Other recommended running backs to Boom are: Ben Tate vs. Jacksonville Jaguars; Justin Forsett vs. Atlanta Falcons; Eddie Lacy vs. Carolina Panthers
My Wide Receiver Boom of the week: Golden Tate, Detroit Lions – Tate is in a nice position this week for several reasons. First, the Lions number one wide receiver will be out again this week, nursing his injury, and second the Lions are facing New Orleans, who allow, 267 passing yards per game. Tate should be in for a big game this week.
Other recommended wide receivers to Boom are: Andre Holmes vs. Arizona Cardinals; Terrance Williams vs. NY Giants; DeAndre Hopkins vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
My Tight End Boom of the week: Jordan Cameron, Cleveland Browns – Cameron had only 3 catches last week, but he made those 3 grabs count, adding over 100 yards and a touchdown. Cleveland faces a bad Jacksonville pass defense, allowing 294 passing yards per game. Cameron will become QB, Hoyer’s favorite target this week, and every week until Gordon comes back.
Other recommended tight ends to Boom are: Heath Miller vs. Houston Texans; Owen Daniels vs. Atlanta Falcons
