As we all know, the Celtics have a boatload of future draft picks for years down the line thanks a series of trades that will keep them afloat. Danny Ainge knows how to work his magic in acquiring this draft picks or finding a way to upgrade these picks to better the Celtics in the immediate future. I will give you a quick update on a year-by-year basis on what the Celtics own for draft picks and how they managed to acquire them over the last few years.

– Celtics own their original 1st round pick

– Celtics own a Clippers 1st round pick on the Doc Rivers trade

– Celtics will own a Wizards 2nd round pick if the Wizards are a top-10 team at the end of the season. Celtics own rights to the pick on the Kris Humphries trade

– Celtics will retain their own 2nd round pick if they aren’t a top-5 team at the end of the season. Otherwise, their own 2nd round pick will go to the Cavaliers

2016:

– Celtics own their original 1st round pick

– Celtics own a Nets 1st round pick on the blockbuster trade

– Celtics own a Cavaliers 1st round pick on a trade along with Tyler Zeller and Marcus Thornton to exhaust their trade exception

– Celtics own a Heat 2nd round pick on the Jordan Crawford 3-way trade with the Warriors last season

– Celtics own a Cavaliers 2nd round pick on the Keith Bogans trade

2017:

– Celtics have a right to swap their 2017 2nd round pick to the Nets for their 1st round pick as part of the blockbuster trade

The Celtics have a crazy amount of draft pick for the future and I trust Danny Ainge 100 percent with however he decides to use all of them. Either way, the Celtics will continue to be successful in the future.
